'Mahi' on Margate
In the heart of Margate, this low set villa and townhouse complex (7 in total) is Hap & Co's first project focused on housing affordability. This project is the first of many Hap & Co projects focused on being part of the solution to our current housing crisis. As widely documented, there is a severe shortage of affordable homes in South East Queensland. Build commenced September 2024 and will complete July 2025. Five of the seven new homes are now sold, with the remaining two homes retained by Hap and Co.

20 Chatham Street in Margate was a lowset 2-bedroom house situated on a 1014m2 allotment. Margate is a coastal city approx. 35km from Brisbane’s CBD and 28km from Brisbane’s international airport. With its 1920's bathing pavilions, boardwalks, long white sandy beach, abundant cafes and eateries, this charming English seaside-style beach on Brisbane's bayside (once home to the Bee Gees), is an easy drive to the heart of Brisbane. With all the amenities of a larger city, including a mix of well sought after public and private schools, is why this location is so in demand.
20 Chatham Street is located conveniently on a corner lot, roughly 700m to the Margate Beach waterfront. The existing 2-bedroom post war home has been removed and 7 new homes will be constructed. Works have commenced September 1 2024 and construction will complete July 2025.
